I designed and executed two comfort zones for Marrickville Metro’s latest centre upgrade. Consisting of floor murals and fabric design, the work is inspired by my trips to Reverse Garbage in Marrickville as a young adult. Reverse Garbage is a creative reuse centre, a place of endless possibilities for creatives and makers, and a bit of an institution in Marrickville. Bits and bobs from local industries are on-sold and given new life. Buttons, fabric and paper offcuts, displays from shop fit-outs, and even my first lounge were purchased there.

The artwork employs colour and collage to explore the relationship between a collection of somewhat unrelated objects. It is an ode to Marrickville’s diverse community and creative heart.
