As part of the 150 Years of Burwood Program, I was commissioned by Burwood Council to create a mural dedicated to Angus and (the late) Malcolm Young of AC/DC. Located on the side of 12 Burleigh Street, the mural is just a few doors down from the original Young family home where they resided from 1965.

Created in close collaboration with the Young family, the mural draws inspiration from a 1970s photograph of the band by Phillip Morris, taken during the early days of their formation. At Angus' request, a few adjustments were made, including swapping Malcolm’s sequinned jumpsuit for his iconic jeans and tee, reflecting how fans best remember him. The blurred background in the design is also in reference to the original facade of 4 Burleigh Street.
